The Windermere Community Association - WCA

The Community benefits from the support and participation of both permanent and part time residents with a stake in the future of Windermere.

The Windermere Community Association (W.C.A.) provides a forum for bringing community members together to discuss community concerns, and all residents are encouraged to join and get involved. The W.C.A. was incorporated in 1954 and is a registered charitable organization with its own constitution and bylaws. The boundaries of Windermere are the same as the Fire Protection area of 8 km in all directions from the Windermere Fire Hall.

The mandate of the WCA is:

1. provide buildings and facilities for community meetings, entertainment, educational activities and sports;
2. fostering or participating in all such activities that will lead to the cultural, social, physical and agricultural benefit of the community;
3. providing a forum for coummunity discussion and debate; and
4. raising money to support the above initiatives.

Current WCA activities related to this mandate include hall operation and special activities, beach and dock operation, the Fall Fair and Bird Song Supper, and website maintenance.

Annual fees for membership in the W.C.A. are $20.00/year per family and $10.00/year for a single membership.

Meeting dates are as follows 2010/11:

October 4, 2010, November 1, 2010, December 6, 2010, January 17, 2011.  All meetings start at 7:00 pm and are held at the Windermere Community Hall.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend our meetings bringing with them their ideas for the community enhancement or any concerns they have about the community.

The Annual General Meeting for 2011 will be held at the Windermere Community Hall on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 10:00 am.
